Our Very Own Teddy Ruxpin!

“ 20 years ago Teddy Ruxpin won the hearts of millions of children” (http://www.teddyruxpin.com/)

The cuddly bear was every childs best friend! Although animatronic, the talking bear was a friend to rely on and would create the fondest of memories. Teddy would move his mouth and eyes and would tell stories with a cassette player secretly hidden in his back. Who didn’t love Teddy Ruxpin? It was sad that Teddy had to go away, but don't fret...
WE HAVE OUR VERY OWN TEDDY RUXPIN RIGHT HERE IN BETHESDA!!!

BEHOLD! CB is our very own Bear BFF- I must tell you that Chris was very well aware that this would be written, and had no objections whatsoever about this post.

Notice the Similarities:
* Adorable, need to pinch cheeks
* Big, cuddly body for the best “bear” hugs EVER
* Sometimes not always- he’ll repeat himself over and over again if you bug him about something :)
* They have similar tastes in tee-shirts
* Enjoys being physically touched, cuddled, and spooned

We all love Bestophor Bear <3- so the next time you see him make sure to run up and wrap your arms around him and tell him you two are best friends for life!!!!

If you want to give him a jolly surprise, make sure to give him a good tickling under his arms pits. The joyous laughter of such a big cuddle-wud will make your heart skip a beat.

CHECK OUT THIS TOTALLY AWESOME COMMERICAL FEATURING OUR CB TEDDY RUXPIN!

Round 1 Goes to the Girlfriend...

Sometimes on the weekends or over a holiday break the nightly activities in apartments picks up with parties, later nights out, etc. I face the front of the building and sometimes wake up to drunken laughing, yelling or loud music. People in my apartment building are pretty respectful so the noise never lasts too long or is too loud that you can’t just fall back asleep. Sometimes I choose not to go back to sleep- I can’t help it and eavesdropping is not a good thing, but sometimes when couples fight (in drunken rants) I can’t help but to listen.

Scenario 1 happened on a balcony somewhere above my apartment. Normally when I hear people talk I quickly close my eyes and return back to sleep, but when you hear WHY DON’T YOU JUST COME INSIDE I DON’T GET IT ITS COLD WTF ARE YOU DOING? it’s like little antennas pop out of my head and I have to try and listen.

If you’re broadcasting your voice loud enough for people to hear, especially on a balcony where noises echo, and have woken me up because of it, your argument becomes my newest bedtime story. It seemed the gf was visiting her bf in his apartment where he was hosting a small gathering. She had gotten restless of him being on the balcony with his friends and wanted him to come back inside. Although I couldn’t see I pictured something like this…

The guys are just hanging out doing their own thing. The girl shimmies outside onto the balcony and is standing there hovering around the bf and his friends, arms crossed and rolling her eyes, not really trying to socialize but coax her bf into coming back inside with her- you all have seen that! At that point I don’t know if the friends left the balcony, but the conversation became a twosome.

WHY DON’T YOU JUST COME INSIDE I DON’T GET IT ITS COLD WTF ARE YOU DOING?
I DONTKNOW WHAT YOU WANT IM WITH MY FRIENDS!
WELL YOU CAN COME BACK INSIDE AND HANG OUT WITH EVERYONE!
I WAS HANGING OUT WITH EVERYONE...
WHY DO YOU HAVE TO DO THIS- GOD DAMN YOU ILL GET YOU ANOTHER DRINK SHUT THE F UP. (that was a curse word, but i'm trying not to use profanity)
SHHH... GOD!

After that their voices lowered and I couldn't make out any more of their argument and was not about to become a peson to actually get out of bed and slide my window open to hear more.. that's inappropes. Looks like the girl won since shortly after the SHHH, the two went inside as the voices stopped. It's half entertainment have mystery- trying to figure out what they're saying, all and all it provided a short couple minutes of entertainment.

I know I know, totally inappropriate and really immature, but sometimes when I hear couple fight, especially after drinking the conversations sometimes are hilarious. I know for some people drinking heightens emotions and sensitivity- its happened to all of us at one point- but the next time you decide to dish it out in the open, just remember anyone can be watching or listening hmmm…?

We're Not Old

Since the holidays are over there isn't going to be a special string of blogs for a little while, so on with the random jib jab.

Within the last year I’ve noticed at every birthday I have attended the same thing is repeated… “WE’RE GETTING SO OLD!” When did 23 become old? The majority of my friends are 23 and 24 and I’d really like to know why all of a sudden this age complex has been shoved in our faces.

Despite being called a “grandma” by my dearest guy friends, I find it hysterical and don’t mind. Sure I’m not 18 (‘eh hem), but I don’t think I look 23 and a lot of other people don’t think I do either. I know some people, like my sister ,who don't like having their age mistaken as younger than they are. You should be happy that people think you’re younger than you are.

I want to look 35 when I’m 50 and 50 when I’m 65. I don’t mind looking young and because of it I guess I don’t mind being the age I am. I mean think about it, except for a few exceptions none of us are getting married anytime soon. In fact most of us have a good 4-6 years before that even happens, may be even longer for some.

It’s an inherent trait of any living being, they get old. But considering I plan on living to be 104, I’m not even a quarter done with my life and have a long ways to go, so I’m not really concerned. We’re in our early 20’s and not even our mid-twenties or late twenties yet- we’re young.

We all have a lot more living to do before we even think about settling on a job, city, or person. Believe me when I say it’s not an easy thing to be patient and let time go by when at times you want so much for your future to begin now.. Although we’re not “kids” anymore, we’re not adults either, so this life limbo we’re hanging out in for a little bit we should enjoy and thrive in… but most importantly, we’re not old :)

For Me...

During my 10 day winter “staycation” I discovered something extremely important. I am not meant to sit in an office for 8+ hours a day. This didn’t come as a shock to me since I always feel 10x more productive when I work from home and am able to get some personal errands done as well. Working from home is the corporate way of saying “we’re really giving you the day off, but please check your emails occasionally through out the day and if something does come up make sure to get it done ”. I’m sure most of us feel like we could accomplish many of our day to day work tasks from home and don’t see the real need to commute into work everyday. I’m a do’er. I like being out and about and working with different people. I’ve become bored with my job, I see more for myself.

So in an effort to jumpstart the vision I have for myself in terms of what I want to do for a living I’m going to create a business plan and blueprint. Call it crazy/silly/neverland mumbo jumbo, but when I’m a 27 year old millionaire it’ll make more sense why I chose to create this plan 4 years prior.

I will be my own boss. I will have my own schedule. When I’m done with work I’ll take the rest of the day for myself. Europeans got it right- human beings are not meant to work this much, especially with how the pace of life is presently. I don’t live to work, I work to live and make money so I can pay my bills, go out with friends, and sometimes splurge on things I don’t need.

I grew up with 2 working parents who still work ‘til this day. They both love what they do and are both their own bosses. They’ve set a standard that I will surpass for myself. I don’t see how I could possibly want anything else for myself. YAY ME!

I found this... I really like it... I want to buy it!
P.S. I'm still waiting for the Blizzard of '09 to roll through!!!

Welcome 2009

The end of 2008 was fantastic, absolutley no complaints. It began with a B-CC tradition at Chadwicks the night before Thanksgiving and ended with a somewhat new B-CC New Years tradition at My Brothers Place. I always like to think about the past year and everything that has happened. It's true... you can't ever predict what's going to happen, who you will meet, or the things you will do.

Has anyone ever asked you if you would like to be able to predict the future or just see it? I'm sure in some cases the answer would be yes. I forget who it was, but I remember a female friend of mine from college said if she could see the future she'd only like to see herself at a dinner party and the people she was with. An interesting point of view I found refreshing- I just wish I could remember who it was... Liana may be?

Although having the ability to the predict the future would be fascinating, being able to say "That's so awesome that happened, I wouldn't of ever thought..." is always fun to do. New Years was great, again a newer B-CC tradition that was a friendly-frenzy in the best way possible. Being with friends is alwasy a plus, but getting an excuse to get dressed up is a great bonus. So let's take a look at the last year-12 photos in chronological order from 2008. I'm ready for 2009 and everything that comes with it... so far, I'm happy xx.
